Abstract: The contribution is devoted to the trial of František Orlický before the National Court. František Orlický is one of the most famous members of the Diet of the Slovak Republic, as he was, among other things, the rapporteur of the constitutional law on the expulsion of Jews. For his activities in the Diet, but also for the activities he performed as the government commissioner of Trnava, he was brought before the retributive National Court in Bratislava. The aim of this study is to analyze and comprehensively treat this trial from the preparatory proceedings through the filing of the indictment to the verdict and the reflection of the trial in the press of the period. The trial lasted from 1945 to 1947. The main hearing took place in August 1947. The case was heard by a panel of the National Court, headed by Jozef Kostka, which sentenced Orlický to six-month-imprisonment, five-year loss of the right to vote in municipalities, and confiscation of a quarter of his property. The author also deals with speeches and articles found in the regional press that could have influenced the amount of the sentence, since Orlický criticized the Czechoslovak Republic and promoted the exclusion of Jews from economic life.
