Abstract: Konštantín Čulen is one of the important figures of the last century's Slovakia. He was an extremely prolific columnist, journalist, but also a historian. He stood out not only for the excellent style of his contributions, but also for the volume of work he left behind. He is the author of three dozen books, focused mainly on national revival and emigration, as well as many articles, studies, reviews, and polemical contributions. He had to leave Slovakia to emigrate towards the end of the war, due to his defence of the right of Slovaks to autonomy and statehood, and criticism of the situation in interwar Czechoslovakia—his political involvement in the period of the First Slovak Republic. But even there, far away from his homeland, he did not stop creating and continued in his journalistic and biographical work. He left behind an extensive work that has served and will serve future generations of journalists and historians.
